In the ancient time, in pursuit of the beauty, people first used the still water and then the basin to hold water to give reflection. Since the creation of bronze mirrors, they had become then necessities of life that the ancients used for giving a reflection of people’s face and clothes for 4,000 years. Bronze mirrors were not only closely related to and had much influences on the economy, ideology, culture, arts, and social life, but also reflected the cultural development of human society. In the course of Chinese civilization, the Han Dynasty was an era which inherited past traditions and broke new grounds for the future, the start of a great country, and the most prosperous period in the history of bronze mirrors. During this period, bronze mirrors had become the art treasure, famous for its exquisite craftsmanship and the unprecedentedly rich in the themes of mirror decorations. There are many Han tombs in Yizheng, and numerous bronze mirrors have been unearthed here, which have abundant themes, exquisite craftsmanship, and gorgeous decorations, reflecting the profound cultural connotations and stunning artistic achievements of Han culture.
