： (South China, Jades, Guangdong)
China has a long history of jade culture and great importance has been attached to jade since ancient times. The Chinese have traditionally loved, admired and ritualized jade, taking it as symbol of beauty and purity. With the development of society and the improvement of living standards, jade is no longer mysterious and has become secularized. Jade wares as decorative objects and artworks are extremely common in daily life, and jade carving craft has become an indispensable industry in modern society. Recently, with the rapid development of jade, Guangdong Province has become a hub for jade and trade in China. Varieties of local jade are increasingly preferred by collectors. The Charm of Jade in South China aims to popularize local jade culture, to display this rare material, its bright colors, vivid shapes, delicate techniques and significant meanings, and to show visitors spectacular jade wares combining traditional folk customs and modern fashion design.
